A frisky young colt framed by promises of trail riding and ranch adventure sets the mood for horse lovers. The Kings Valley Equestrian becomes an eye-catching magazine with a cover that entices you to turn the page.

About the Designer:
Nearing the end of the Graphic Design Success course, Oregon based graphic designer, Valerie Gupton hasn’t let the grass grow under her feet. Not long after Boot Camp, she took her new-found courage and jumped at a "call for a designer."

She laid it out: "I’m new and I may not be perfect, but if you are willing to give me a shot, I’ll work hard and do my best. If you don’t like the results, it is no biggie. We go our separate ways. If you do, it’s a win-win for both of us. What do either of us have to lose?" That led to a great working relationship with a rather successful copywriter and subsequent follow-up projects.

For this magazine cover, Valerie started with a stock photo from one of the many disks in her "arsenal of photos." Combining the photo with the love of her neighborhood, she added the article text. Using Adobe Photoshop script, layers and styles, she created the different components of the layout.
